Hair is a four letter word, when it grows in all the wrong places.
Coping with unsightly hair by tweezing, shaving, bleaching or waxing only causes hair to grow in stronger and darker than before. It also causes skin irritation and possible permanent damage from these repetitive methods.
At Plastic Surgery Plus, we use the CoolGlide laser hair removal system, a non-invasive laser hair removal employing intense, long-pulsed light through an actively-cooled handpiece, which disables unwanted pigmented hair follicles and impairs new growth. Unsightly hair can be significantly reduced with laser treatment, including the most popular Bikini Hair Line Laser Treatment and underarm laser hair reduction, in addition to laser hair removal for unwanted facial hair, leg hair and much more.
At Plastic Surgery Plus, we love offering specials for summer time on laser hair removal - check with our office at 732-683-1033 for the latest laser hair specials.

While the number of treatment varies from person to person, on an average, everyone requires at least three treatments for good results. Most people do not require more than six treatments, though people with hormonal imbalances or people who normally wax or pluck a lot may require more sessions. There is some sensation during laser hair removal. If you have very thick, dark hair, you may experience more than those with thin hair; thicker, darker hair will absorb more of the laser light during any given treatment. Generally, the hair becomes thinner and less dense after each subsequent treatment.

According to a recent survey by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, 45 percent of dermatologic surgeons report an increased number of patients needing corrective treatments after cosmetic procedures performed by non-physicians.
Medi-spas often advertise many medical/cosmetic procedures. A medi-spa can be anything from an area within a dermatologist's or plastic surgeon's office to a storefront at the mall with an esthetically pleasing atmosphere that offers BOTOX® injections, laser facial and laser hair removal and more, along with manicures and massages.
Though laser hair removal is a relatively mild and non-surgical process, there can be side effects such as temporary change of skin color (lightening or darkening) that can last for several weeks or months. Choosing a board certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience and training in laser hair removal, assures you the safest and most beautiful results.
