Dr. Bhattacharya devotes himself to both the science and art of beauty. In addition to his medical degree from UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Bhattacharya graduated from two intensive training programs: at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and at the prestigious plastic surgery training at the State University of New York, training under nationally renowned surgeons in aesthetic surgery of the face and body including breast enhancement, rhinoplasty, abdominoplasty and liposuction.
His view of medical safety, natural beauty and personalized care keeps patients returning again and again.
"The consultation is one of the key steps in your procedure," explains Dr. Bhattacharya. "I want to fully understand the results you want; then I offer today's best solutions, sometimes combining both surgical and non-surgical treatments."
Based on 10 years as a double board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Bhattacharya offers in-depth, up to date knowledge of the latest in beauty technology. "My recommendation may not be the procedure you initially thought you wanted," he says. "Some women ask for a breast lift, when in fact, a breast augmentation is what would enhance the shape of the breast and provide the "lift" they want."
Dr. Bhattacharya is the Medical Director of the JonRic International Medical Salon, opened in June 2008 at the Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus of CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, where he will administer and oversee all medical spa treatments: facial rejuvenation including ArteFill, Juvederm, Restylane and BOTOX; laser hair removal; and more.
Dr. Bhattacharya is a member of the Medical Society of New Jersey, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons. He is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and the State University of New York. Dr. Bhattacharya is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, New Jersey. Dr. Bhattacharya served on the review board for the new cohesive gel breast implants, and recommended FDA approval once the new gel implants met his own stringent requirements for safety and beauty.
Since 2001, the A.K. Bhattacharya Foundation has honored an outstanding medical student of UMDNJ who has shown both excellence in academic studies and a commitment to community through volunteer work.
The A.K. Bhattacharya Scholarship Award honors the work of Professor A.K. Bhattacharya of India, grandfather of A.K. Bhattacharya, M.D., F.A.C.S. of Freehold, NJ.
The senior Dr. Bhattacharya was the founder of Sagar University in India, where he was also Dean of Science. His life's work was dedicated to furthering the cause of equal educational opportunities for all people, and of community service. The many programs he started in his hometown in India included lending financial support for continuing education, funding community help programs, and creating an environment where learning and service were promoted.
